Commercially Pure Titanium for Deep Draw Applications.
Specifically developed for pressing and deep drawing applications, our grade 1 commercially pure titanium has been melted and refined using a unique process to produce an extremely fine grain that makes it suitable to be drawn over distances up to 20x the thickness of the material. We can guarantee a minimum grain size of 9, according to ASTM E 112.
The material is rolled and tempered specifically to each individual order and application, with special care given to the refining process in order to prevent ‘orange peel’. This is evidenced in the image below, where the component starts at 0.114mm and is drawn to 18mm deep, indicating a very small and regular grain size.
Titanium has the highest strength to weight ratio of any metal, and is highly resistant to corrosion. Its light weight can offer a cost efficient alternative to other heavier alloys for many applications, especially those required in harsh environments. Applications range from temperature probes and components for the marine industry, to the production of industrial diamonds.
The image below shows the components for some of these applications – the first three items are for use in medical applications, while item 4 is integral to the production of industrial diamonds.
Item 1: strip thickness 0.305mm, final drawing depth 30mm
Item 2: strip thickness 0.15mm, final drawing depth from 25mm to 35mm
Item 3: strip thickness 0.114mm, final drawing depth 18mm
Item 4: strip thickness 0.305mm, final drawing depth 13mm
